Connectivity

At Odyssey, we offer connectivity options to support even the most demanding of business bandwidth requirements, and never resell other providers to ensure ultimate quality of service. We continually invest in our own dedicated connectivity platform, ensuring that you will always benefit from the very latest tools to support your business.

Odyssey delivers broadband that business depends on.

With telephony and other applications moving to the cloud, high quality connectivity has become the life blood of a modern business. Our network is tailored for business use and is supported by Odyssey employed engineers in the North East of England. You can take a look at some of the broadband products we supply below, then when you are ready call 01642 661800 to discuss things in detail with our team.

ADSL Broadband

Our business ADSL broadband is ideal for any business looking for a reliable, cost effective, high speed internet connection. The speed you'll get depends on how far you are from the local exchange and remember that this product works on "shared" resources so other peoples activity in the local area might slow you down. You'll need a normal analogue telephone line to activate the service on. We supply a business grade router with all ADSL broadband and it can usually be installed in a couple of weeks.

  • Small business
  • Less than 10 employees
  • Short term requirements
  • Cost effective internet access

Load Balanced Broadband

Our load balancing service routes your traffic over multiple ADSL connections to deliver a better experience to local network users, requiring absolutely no special setup on their PC. This product is ideal if FTTC isn't available in your area yet but you're struggling with the normal ADSL speed and can't justify a full ethernet lease line just yet. We'll supply a different router and work with you to fine tune the service for best possible results. As this product is based on ADSL, it's important to remember that other peoples activity in the local area might slow you down from time to time.

Fibre Broadband

Our Fibre Broadband or FTTC service, offers more download and upload bandwidth so your business can get more out of its internet connection than ever before. It works by running a fibre optic cable from your local telephone exchange to the green cabinet at the side of the road, then on to your premises via normal copper telephone cable. FTTC is widely available now and is installed on top of an analogue telephone line just like ADSL. It's still a service relying on "shared" resources, so again other peoples activity might slow you down from time to time.

GEA Broadband

GEA broadband, or Generic Ethernet Access is delivered via the same physical method at FTTC, however unlike ADSL and FTTC this product benefits from guaranteed bandwidth at all times and is supported with an ethernet leased line style service level agreement. It's perfect for businesses who are struggling at peak times but cannot justify the investment in a full ethernet lease line service just yet. It's usually available anywhere where FTTC is and can be delivered in a few weeks.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

An Odyssey VPN network allows network traffic between devices to be kept private and secure despite being spread across unsecured public networks. VPNs therefore allow businesses to share sensitive information across devices, in varying locations without the need to deploy distinct physical connections, and without compromising the security of those devices or their LANs.
